once there, we unpacked our things and went to the toliet. a WOW factor mann! its like 10 times better then the toliet at camp 2!! i mean SERIOUS! it was squeaky clean, and it seems like some hotel toliet. amirah,nabilah,iris,xinyu and me went to explore the toliet and the rest of camp one. then we were all geared up for....KAYAKING! WHOOOOOOO~!!!! another activity that i was looking forward to! so firstly, we were taught how to pedal using our ores. when we were done with that,went to the waters to test our life jackets..the water was really chilly and all of us were floating! then fizal and tracy demo us how to capsize(ok so this is the part which i hate because i dont want saltwater going into my nose!!) then we all take turns to use the tri-kayaks to practice capsizing. once again, i was with amirah n nabilah.and i was sitting in the front!!
when it was our turn to go into the water, we were padalling smoothly( i had trouble doing back padalling though hehe! :x) then when tracy asked us to capsize, i was like hell no, i dont wanna do this! then before i could know what was happening, we were shaking the kayak left to right. "ONE..TWO...THHHHREEEEEEE!" and we capsized!!! GAHHHHHH~ my lips tasted salty! damnn! then tracy said " imagine u guys are in cold waters and you only have 5 mins to save yourself before you die of frostbite... your time starts..NOW~!" all of us were like blurblur like that. and so we tried plan A : lift the kayak with our hands and push it to the opposite direction. Plan B: lean on the kayak and use our body weight to turn the kayak. plan A FAILED. plan B took many tries before we actually succeeded. that took us like 3mins already!next problem: how are we gonna get up on the kayak?! and so, i tried to get up 1st..after like how many tries, i STILL couldnt get up. so i let amirah try 1st. she struggled a few times before she made it to the top.AND THEN i tried to get up again..thks to me and my BIG BUTT, nabilah had to push me up.SHEESH! nabilah managed to get on the kayak easily. it took us like a good 10mins there!
after everyone was done with the practicing, all of us get on the water and followed fizal into the middle of the sea. then from there, we played "catching" fizal was like, "if u guys managed to catch me within 5 mins, i'll shorten your PT training from 15 to 10 routines" the minute we heard that, all of us shouted.. "chiong ahhhh!!!!!" then out of nowhere, tracy joined in and we have to catch her too! my team tried to catch her but my kayak keep on hiting to talha's kayak! its like every 5mins out of nowhere, we just banged onto each other! in the end, we failed to catch them! T_T NO FAIR! theirs was a single kayak and ours were tri-kayaks! but still, our PT was increased my 5 more.. =.=! the next one was my FAVORITE part. we had to get ALL the kayaks together to form a raft.then from there, while we were holding on to each other's raft, we had to help each other stand so much so that ALL of us were standing on the kayaks! the middle people got to get up 1st, followed by the 1st people.i had trouble getting up, thks to deon who pulled me up! ^^! finally it was the last people, this took alot of teamwork and we all kept encouraging each other that we could stand up, and in the end, WE MADE IT!!!! ( wahhh~ his was the best memory i had in the whole of the OBS camp!) then we were all wolf-whistling and " whooohoooo-ing" because we succeed while we held each other's hand while standing on kayaks in the middle of the sea!
soon, it was time to head back to the shores( not forgetting to bump into thalha's kayak again! LOLS!)Then we had to watch up, with all the sands stuck to our foot and then we also had lunch! now, lunch was NOT satisfying at all. we were all damn hungry and our lunch? BREAD . like WTH?! kayaking almost drained most of our energy and bread is seriously NOT ENOUGH to fill an empty stomach. i gobbled chocolate cake, sponge cake and even and apple! and it was still not enough! they should give us better food next time XP! it then started to rain..and did indoors activites instead to pass time.we did this amazing race game where each group was given 2 pieces fo paper consisting of 30 questions in it,and we have to answer then within 30mins by looking around for the answers inside the buliding. we CANNOT go outdoors. so yeah..we ran here and there and there were some questions that we couldnt answer and we worte craps in it. one question was like: Name the tallest mountain in camp 1. our answer? MOUNT EVEREST! like LOL?! we were the 1st group to return to our place.and waited for the rest to come. then the instructors calculated our marks and URSA MAJOR got the highest: 24/30 and we can use our points to buy extra items for our raft.
tengooi was our " boat architech" for this activity. we bought extra ores,ropes and barrels and poles. we were given 1hr to bulid and when it came the last 15mins, we were screwed, we didnt have enough ropes! WAHHH~ and well, we failed because when the instructor carried our raft, the barrels dropped! in the end, only orion managed to pass the 3 tests and were sent to the sea to see if their raft really works. honestly,i felt really sad cuz well, i believed that we were able to make it burt in the end, we failed to do so. T_T. so yeah, all of us were sulking. when we reached the shore, orion brought their raft to the waters and they tested it out, while waiting, i walked around the shore and saw fishes and one sea bird near by! after that,once all the orion memebers were on the raft, they set sailed..however, before the raft could move, one of the barrels floated away! and the other groups ursa major and scropius were like cheering and " YAYY-ing" LOLS! obviously,they didnt want orion to succeed! after that, we were given 5 mins to play with the water and ursa major took a picture at the shore before leaving!!! KYAHH~
and then it started to rain again, we had to carry our materials back to where they belong and sheesh!, for once i felt like i was a worker in some constuction company carry the pipes back n forth, while waking in the rain! i was soaked from top to bottome the WHOLE day! when everything was done, we wash up and got ready to head back to campus 2. haish, another long,tiring walk back up the trail...once we reached camp 1, we wanted to go for jettyjumping..but UNFORTUNATELY, we couldnt..WAHHHHHHH!!!!amirah n i were looking forward to this! It was low tide at that time, so in the end we didnt to the jetty jump. T_T
DINNER WAS THE WORST EVER! this time, we used solid fuel and it took like a MILLION YEARS to boil just the water! we were the ONLY group cooking downstairs at the forest there, which mosquitoes sucking blood from all of us, PLUS we were cooking in the DARK and we had to use torchlights. then halfway when we were cooking the maggie, it RAIN! like WTF?! everyone was giving the walao kind of face and we all have to chiong back n forth to carry the stuffs to shelter.and our instuctor went MIA. talking about independant here. and so we ate near the place where our bags were. all of us were SUPER DUPER hungry that we didnt bother to heat up the bake beans and we just ate from the can! however, when we were just about to settle, it stopped raining! all of us were sulking like hell and we heard this guys from 2n2 shouting ." HEAVEN! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US?!" lololols! we finished the rest of the canfoods and left to shower, leaving hughes, tengooi and junwei eating their meat!
THAT was when i relised that i got sunburnt when i looked into the mirror! there were MANYMANY pimples on my forehead and a cluster of them on my cheeks! i was like screaming OMFGGG in the toliet! eventhough i put layers of sunblock on my face, i still got sunburnt! even my hands got darker! NOOOOOO~! i was took tired and streesed to think about it so i just ignored my face and went to brush my teeth outside, while i was rinsing my toothbrush, i didnt know or cared that there was a LIZARD in the SINK! after that, went to pitch our tents. this time we were sleeping below, aka HELL. it was damn stuffy and hot! and there were too many mosquitoes and i got bitten twice as much than yesterday!!! damnn.. my stupid insect repelling didnt have any effects on the mosquitoes even if i appilied mulitiple layers on it...are they mutated or what? or is it that my blood was just to sweet?! =.=! was damnn exausted and fell asleep straight away, i must have a good night's sleep since its the last night and also we'll be waking up later than usual the next day!
DAY 4
YESSA...today's the last day! how funny 4 days just past by like a blur. i didnt want it to end fast though..on the other hand..i wanted to go home so badly to rest my aching limbs and to lie on my comfy bed! WOAH...today's is a TOTAL change in MOOD babeh!everyone was high and so enthusiactic! i mean what do u expect?! its the LAST day of camp and everyone was DYING to go home! PT was THE BEST ever! usually everyone would sulk n be dead during PT, but for today, eveyone seemed all jolly to do PT! we started off with a cheer! "im awake, alive,alert,enthusiactic! CLAPCLAP!" lolos! that was funn! then we play this evolution game where u and ur friend come out with different numbers and the 1st person who is able to add up the total is able to evolve. the game was damn lame sia! its like 1st, we start off as eggs, then to chick,chicken,AHBENG(this part i laughed like siao!),then eagle,superman and finally IMMORTAL..the posture was funny sia, have to stand on one leg and act like some saint.
in the end, i became superman..DANG! just one more game away fomr being n immortal! LOLS..then the instructors were saying that we all the lower class immortals! LOLOL! then we did 5 excercise routiines..each 20 TIMES and we have to it 3 rounds of it. SUPRISINGLY, there were only 2 repeats and everything went smoothly and ppl were counting them loudly! wow..ppl enjoying PT like this ...a MIRACLE. the instrutors were also WOW-ed by us...then when we doing the last rountine..the instrutors asked us to sound loud and give it our best shot..and when we were couting 17..18..19...20!!!!!!! there was echo..seriously! when it came to 20..we screamed! wshoooo~! then the rest of the other grps doing pt will notice us.then there's this part where we have to raise our arms at shoulder lenght and we had to count backwards from 100! anyone caught lowering their arms will add one round..altogether we got 17 rounds!! and we thought we were SUPPOSED to run 17 rounds around the campus, but instead, we jogged on the spot n turned 17 times lahs!!! the instructors scare us only!
after that,went for breakfast and next up was our last activity, HIKING! i dreaded for this, cuz we're gonna me in the jungle in the middle of nowhere and have to fight through insects n bushes and broken branches to reach our destination..whats more, there wasnt any trails at all! we were given a map n a compass and there were 2 destinations, the mountain( bukit tingii) or the one near the sea area there.so we chose to go the mountain and guess wad? i WAS THE NAVIGATOR! i cant believe i volunteered to do so, despite i have a pretty bad sense of direction.up anyways,luckily we didnt get lost.there was once where there was 2 trails n we had to choose one to reach our destination. i almost lead the group to the wrong trail sia! as we went deeper into the forest..we had to climb uphill and there were many leaves,frens,broken branches n pit holes on the way.it was TOUGH.. PLUS, there were HELL LOTS OF MOSQUITOES flying around us! insect repellant wouldnt work!!! halfway, junwei took over my place and we managed to reach our destination within 30mins! WHOOTS! rested for a while and we all took a picture!
now, the bad part was, we had to find a route to go down, and since it was raining previously, the ground would be all slippery n muddy. so hughes was our next navigator, thks to tengooi who said that we could just get down the way we got up here and in the end, he asked us ," which way we went up arh?" LMAO! from there, we saw many creatures and for the 1st time, i saw the biggest spider that i have ever seen! it was an golden orb spider! and hughes almost went through the spider web! while going down that time, i tripped like 2 times? damnn..im just so not used in this kind of grounds. finally, we managed to find a trail which leads us back the camp thks to hughes and we were the 1st one to reach there! yay!
so while waiting for the rest to come back, went to have lunch n started packing our stuffs n tents.then while waiting for the boat to come we played many games with orion. there's this one where we were not supposed to laugh when we talk to each other.it only consists of 2 sentances : we are in a serious situation. the other one will reply, yes it is..then we have to pass this to the rest of the people..DAMN LAME SIA! once our boat came, we all played this game with tracy, the one where she will ask "my grandmother die yesterdday,did she die?" that one so confusing sehh..and it took like till the end of the boat ride to figure out the trick. once we reached the singapore grounds, its time to ride a bus back to east coast campus. hahas! had a fun time in bus, we played this game called black magic ans poor xinyu always guessed wrongly! then we also tested her on the time game.. eg. 1,2,3,4,5,6 o'clock..what time is it? from the starting till we reached the east cosst campus, she kept asking her to test her..unfortunately,she still doesnt get it!well xinyu, hope you'll find the answer soon (: once at east coast, we packed our stuffs and headed to the canteen to have lunch! AHHHHHH~ THE LAST MEAL THAT WE'RE GONNA HAVE! it was a scrumptous one indeed! with the chicken and ..rice..YES! i;ve been YEARNING rice! since i've been eating bread only for the past few days! then tengooi daring sia..he go to mr tan there ask for vegetables cuz the food carter there dont have vegetables..then mr tan gave him vegetables, EXTRA 3 CHICKEN WINGS AND EXTRA EGG! then everyone was like..EHHHH~ NO FAIR SIA!then he say, waddd last meal marhs..must enjoy to the max! then all the guys go tengooi's plate got grab the food! then for the last time, we said our food cheer n digg in!
after that,we did our last reflection of the day. we had to share our happiest moments,why,our saddest moments,why,the most vauluable lesson learnt and how can u apply that to ur everyday life.my happiest moment was when the part where we all were standing at the kayak!it took like teamwork to do so and it felt great the we helped each other!then my saddest moment was went our raft didnt work cause i tought we were able to it but in the end we couldnt.then i learnt about dicipline, because our grp was always late for not turing up on the expected time.and i could appy this to my daily life like mananging my time and waking up early in the morining.hahas! then tengooi was damnn funny! his happiest moment was he was able to eat pontiwi buns!LOLOLLS!Then others say the bun sucks..after the whole reflection thing, we had to do this survey n after that, i recieved my hp n wallet back! OHHHHHHHH~ I MISSED U SO MUCH HANDPHONE! (ok fine i siao lurhs) then recieved a certificate and the picture we took on the 1st day.
finally, we had to assemble at the planetarium and geck fong gave her final speech. there was one time she say..when u go home, go n hug ur parents,i know u guys miss ure daddy n mummy's armpits right?!" LOLOL! LAUGHED like mad! and then it was time to say BYEBYE to OBS..wahhhhh! so sad..it was getting emotional here..and i'll miss tracy! ): so went on a long trip back to JVS.met up with the SAN-FEKZ and we all hugged each other like we've never seen each other for YEARS!!! awwwwww! and then..it was HOME SWEET HOME for me..
